I'm gonna call bs if this is supposed to be from the 1930's, because those plane outlines are of a modern plane that the artists wouldn't have known of.

Keep in mind this is a supposed future image; I wouldn't be too surprised if the artist came up with that outline himself while thinking about a "future" jet.

The first jet planes were functional only about fifteen years after this, so it's highly conceivable that the concept of jet planes was known at the time.
